Breast Augmentation
We all have our reasons. And we tend to come to one common, remarkable
solution. Breast augmentation surgery. With it, women can increase
the size of their breasts, enhance the contour, and add or regain
a youthful, shapely look.
Women of all ages and backgrounds turn
to breast augmentation surgery for a variety of reasons. Some
women simply want to fit clothing better or to increase
their confidence. Others might be uncomfortable with asymmetrical
breasts. Many women also aim to correct breasts that sag or
have become
misshapen because of aging or pregnancy.
The Procedure:
Plastic
surgeons can make strategic incisions for inconspicuous results
The most common locations are under the breast, in the armpit,
and around the nipple. Saline-filled silicone implants
can be placed over or under the muscle. This is a decision that
can
depend
on patient
body
structure
and preference, as well as on the preference of the physician.
Your consultation will help you determine these factors.
The procedure usually takes 1 to 2 hours to be performed, and
is done so on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia in a
private
Premiere Center operating room.
Post Procedure:
Most patients need to take several days off of work. It is necessary
to wait 3-4 weeks before applying allowing physical contact with
breasts. Some swelling, bruising, soreness, and possible reduction
of nipple sensation may occur temporarily after the procedure.
On rare occassions, some women experience a tightening of scar
tissue which can make the breasts firmer than desired. This is
easily treated, but will likely require a repeat procedure
Costs:
Breast augmentation costs can vary based on existing medical conditions,
implant and technique choices, and on the goals of the patient.
Specific prices can be determined at your consultation.
